According to the report, “AI-based solutions have stimulated marketplace innovation, introducing creative business models and features to compete in a dynamic market against dominating competitors. All marketplace product managers can increase their marketplace’s reach, revenue and services by learning from these innovators.”
In the report, Gartner recommends to:
- Improve the connection between buyers and sellers by enhancing the marketplace discovery of lesser-known products and brands.
- Grow marketplace traffic and purchases by investing in partners’ offering quality, not just by certifying marketplace content.
- Extend the range of customer needs that a marketplace can meet by creating markets for new types of offerings to support AI, such as expert services, AI agents, models and model training data.”
